Art Competition Details
The Spencil Art Prize recognises the extraordinary talents of our youngest artists and puts their creations on show for the world to see and celebrate.
Last year, the inaugural 2021 Spencil Art Prize was born from its predecessor the annual Spencil Book Cover Design Competition and attracted more than 2300 entries from kids all around Australia and New Zealand.
The Spencil Art Prize is open for entries on 5 January 2022 and closes on 16 February 2022. Entries will be reviewed by our esteemed panel of judges and the winners will be announced on 4 March 2022.
We invite artists to submit works in any ‘flat’ media for the chance to win the major prize in two categories – under 8 years old and 9-13 years old.
Each major prize includes: * An ‘Artist Collab’ with our design experts * $100 Cash Prize * An Award Certificate * A prize for your school – valued at $500
Have your art ‘hung’ in our online gallery and just maybe, be a part of something really special: a collaboration with our design experts to turn your creativity into Special Edition lines of one or more Spencil products for you and other kids to love!
There is no limit to the number of unique entries from any one child, so we encourage you to go wherever your creativity leads. You may already have a masterpiece ready for the world to see.

There are few prizes that recognise the important work of this age group and we are proud to be running the Spencil Art Prize again in 2022 as an opportunity to encourage and celebrate little artists and create a platform for them to showcase their artistic talent.
