Art Competition Details
The Alice Prize is a national contemporary art prize and welcomes artists from around Australia to submit their works in any medium or on any theme.

Coordinated by the Alice Springs Art Foundation, The Alice Prize is held in Alice Springs biennially at the Araluen Arts Centre. The Foundation is a voluntary not-for-profit community organisation which has been responsible for the Prize since 1970. The Alice Prize is considered the most significant national contemporary art prize held in the Northern Territory.

The 43rd Alice Prize will open on 22nd March 2024. The winning entry is awarded $30,000 and acquired by the Foundation, adding to an extensive collection of contemporary Australian art since 1970. All entries must be available for purchase.

Entries can be submitted online at https://www.aliceprize.com/

A three person, expert selection panel shortlist works for the exhibition; in 2022, 500+ works were entered with 57 nominated for the exhibition. The selected artists gain national exposure through this unique, contemporary art prize. Once the selection process is final the judge then selects the winner of The Alice Prize.

The judge of the 43rd The Alice Prize in 2024 will be Daniel Mudie Cunningham – artist, curator, critic and sessional lecturer at the National Art School, and currently, a part of the artist in residency cohort at the Waverley Artist Studios.

Successful applicants whose works are exhibited will also be eligible to win the $1000 People’s Choice Award.

Who may enter? Australia Only
