Art Competition Details
The Meta Morph Award is dedicated to exploring the diversity and ongoing evolution of digital creativity with a desire to shine a light on the myriad forms of digital art – from the precision of digital photography to the storytelling power of film and the innovative realms of AI – in all their still and moving glory. The award presents over 10 different categories and a special feature of the award is the ability for entrants to choose three of these categories for their submission, allowing their work to be appreciated across a wider range of artistic
expressions.

The jury panel for the Meta Morph Award includes personalities from many artistic backgrounds. Michèle Sandoz, known for her leadership in art initiatives, brings her expertise from the Art Initiative at the Foundation of the International Committee of the Red Cross. Joining her is John Rhys-Davies, a celebrated actor renowned for roles in iconic films such as Lord of the Rings & Indiana Jones. The panel also features Leo Crane, a visionary in art education from Sotheby’s Institute of Art. These judges, among many others like John Slyce, the VR & AR Course leader at Royal College of Art London, Objkt.com and the Museum of Crypto Art, bring a world of insight.

In the Meta Morph Award, each category is thoughtfully named after an animal, reflecting the characteristics and essence of the digital art it represents. For instance, the ‘Honeybee Hive’ prize celebrates collaborative digital art projects, mirroring the cooperative nature of honeybees. Similarly, the ‘Dragon’s Breath & Phantasmal Flame’ categories embody the transformative power of digital art in VFX, AR, and VR, much like the mythical strength and change associated with dragons. The award also recognises emerging talent from developing countries in the ‘Jaguar Journey’ prize, mirroring the agility and resilience of the Jaguar. And the ‘Serene Swan’ prize, dedicated to mental health, resonates with the core values at the Award. In an era where mental health awareness is crucial, this category offers artists a
platform to contribute meaningfully to this conversation. It is a testament to our belief in the power of digital art to illuminate and discuss vital societal issues.

The Meta Morph Award brings together art, technology, and nature’s principles, intertwined with the intricacies of the human psyche. Submissions are now open and will be accepted until the end of June 2024. The panel, comprising some of the finest judges, will evaluate the submissions in July 2024. The exhibition and award will be received by winning participants on July, 15th 2024.
