Art Competition Details
HIDDEN Rookwood Films 2019 seeks video works that respond to themes relating to the Rookwood Cemetery site, such as history, culture, remembrance and love, grief, loss, mourning, spirituality, the environment, cycles of life, the passage of time and different cultural beliefs around burial and memorialisation.
The selected videos will be screened in a showreel format inside Rookwood’s historic American War Pavilion, 7 September to 7 October 2019, in conjunction with HIDDEN Rookwood Sculptures 2019.
Videos must be high quality, single channel and less than 7 minutes duration.
AWARDS:
$1,500 HIDDEN Rookwood Films Award (open to Australian and International artists)
$1,000 Peacock Gallery Moving Image Award (for an artist connected to Western Sydney)
